Earlier this year, Google and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall for 1.7 million Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, stating "78 instances of burn injuries in the United States, including two reports of third-degree burns and four incidents of second-degree burns." According to a new complaint, the recall was insufficient, and "the same issue remains throughout all" Fitbit products.
The Fitbit Iconic was recalled owing to faulty batteries that might cause the device to overheat and burn the user's skin. Although it's unlikely that "all" Fitbit products are afflicted by this flaw, considering how firms tend to share designs and components across products, it wouldn't be shocking to learn that many smartwatch-style models had bad batteries.
